Established on Park Avenue in Winter Park in 1980, we are Central Florida's oldest and most respected specialty electronic dealer. We opened with one idea: To be a full service "electronic salon", with a beautiful showroom, a custom installation department (unheard of until the 90's) and an in-house service department to repair what we sell (strictly for home audio/video...as Howard Stern says, "no car stereo, no beepers, no nonsense"...and no appliances, either). Today we have grown to employ 30 people, and are housed currently in two locations. Our showroom and corporate offices, are located on 17-92 in Winter Park and our Custom Design Center is located on Minnesota Avenue in Winter Park (both locations are centrally located to all parts of Central Florida). We will be opening a third location, Our Technical Resource Center, adjacent to our Custom Design Center towards the end of 2003. We enjoy and create extraordinary relationships with our customers. Our company is large enough to be stable, yet small enough to be responsive to your individual needs. Our showroom has an extensive display of "cutting edge" technology, and has much of the equipment set up in "lifestyle" or theater like settings. At Absolute Sound we still believe in giving the customer what they want, and not what we happen to be overstocked in (over 30% of our business is special order). We were the first store in Orlando to showcase home theaters. We installed our first theater in 1980. We have been using the term “Home Theater” in our marketing materials since 1986 – 10 years ahead of the industry. We were also the first to introduce component video, VHS hi-fi, the CD player, DAT (we even had to go to Japan in 1987 to get one), DVD, plasma flat display TV and High Definition TV (we debuted HDTV in 1991).
